ONE. Worked late nights because late nights were all the time I had last week in which to get stuff done. I’ve a to-do list that fills a Post-It of things to accomplish over the next nine days, and one of them includes completing this little baby, assembling it, and submitting it.
TWO. Current reads: Literature Through the Eyes of Faith was recommended by my dad because I’m a fiendish reader and I’m interested in how “worldly” things fit into “faith-based” things. Nox is something I’ve wanted to touch (yes, touch) and read since it was first published because I love books that play with form and require physical contact because, despite my love for technology and worship of Apple, I’m a paper person through and through. And, as for Farther Away — well, the lovely book cover aside, I’ve a thing for Jonathan Franzen. I think it’s partly because he comes across as someone who has a lot of anger, not in the explosive, foaming-at-the-mouth-and-punching-walls sort of way, but in the more brooding, simmering way — or maybe it’s more accurate to call it a form of contempt? But, either way, there’s something in the anger realm about him that I respond to positively because I tend to be an angry person myself and it’s the natural, human thing to find solace in kindred spirits …
