Today (Thursday), Friday, Saturday, Sunday — I leave Monday morning, 11:30, and I’m sitting here thinking, Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, I have an itinerary and [most of my] hostels but that’s about it!!!

The running consensus is that I will land in Incheon from Narita on July 24, send a Kakao message to a friend that says, I WILL BE SLEEPING ON THIS BENCH.  PLEASE FIND ME, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE., and promptly proceed to pass out.  Japan will be 21 full days of motion, of three nights of overnight train rides, of lots of combini food and ocean (despite my hatred of sun, I can’t stay away from water) and blank faces that try to mask my inability to understand what people are saying.  I’ll be staying heavily on Hokkaido and on the eastern side of Honshu.  My times on Shikoku and Kyushu will be very, very brief.  I’ll be winding things up with five days in Okinawa, followed by an overnight train ride from Osaka to Tokyo to Narita.  Korea is planned to be two weeks filled with music.  I’m going to come back from Asia and pass out for three days before moving to NYC.

The hilarious thing, really, is that I bet you I’ll average more sleep per night on this trip (at least, in Japan) than I do in an average week.
