Ian McEwan has a new novel (Sweet Tooth) out this autumn. It’s being published Stateside on November 13, but it’s being published in the UK on August 21. The US cover is much better than the UK cover, but the UK gets the novel three months early.
This means I’ll be tuning out law school around August 30 - September 4 until I have devoured the novel and looking for a copy of the US version later on in a used bookstore because, even if it’s true that Solar was terrifically dull, at least it was the sort of terrifically dull that was also incredibly well-written — and it turns out that, in the case of Ian McEwan, I’ll overlook a lot on account of his prose.
(Ahem, excuse me for a second, but … YES! NEW MCEWAN! Now, if Nicole Krauss would release a new novel soon, I’d be peachy.)
