Nell, Standing In the Rain
is it pain or is it shame?
it doesn’t matter what it is
because we’re always standing in it
and time will go on flowing.
and there’s no one here to blame —
sincerity* is always weak.
it breaks like the sand
and scatters like the waves.
and you just can’t stop the rain —
whether you want it or not,
it’ll pour down at any time
and we’ll be standing in it, too.
and, when you’re standing in the rain,
there isn’t much you can do.
along with the falling rain,
this heart will get wet, too* sincerity in the sense of wholeheartedness (i.e. 진슴으로 = with my whole heart)
