oh how lovely

Things to look forward to — the parents will be here from September 15 to September 22, and there’ll be extended family to be seen and visited then, too.  Part of the family gathering will take place in Manhattan, the other part down in Pennsylvania, and there’ll be loads of good food and laughter and shopping to be had — and, then, it’ll be back up to NYC until the parents fly off on the 22nd and I start missing them again.  But, then, the Superhero Bud will be here from October 22 to November 15, which means crazy shenanigans and hair bleaching and more good food and laughter and shopping!  And lots of city-seeing because I’ve made a list of places to visit and things to see, lots of which I actually haven’t done myself, and, somewhere in all that, I’ve got to make it up to Smith, so, all in all, autumn 2012 is turning out to be a good season to close out a good year.

(I’ll still be sobbing in my head every now and then on September 20-23, though.)

Other things to look forward to — the Salman Rushdie thing on September 20, and Mika in concert on October 16, and I really hope his album is a lot better than I’m currently anticipating — the samplers I’ve heard of his album have unfortunately sunk my excitement because of all the post production crap and the dominance of synthesised noise.
