i’ll make you a mixtape.

One of the secret perks of having visitors is that I get to do things I don’t actually get around to now that I actually, you know, live here.  Like walk the Brooklyn Bridge — I’ve always wanted to do this but knew in the back of my head that I wouldn’t actually get around to it unless someone visited me and I could take that person a-walking with me, which is exactly what I ended up doing today, taking the parents up along the greenway to DUMBO to eat pizza then to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

(If you ever visit me, you’d better be prepared not only to walk a lot but also to walk really fast a lot.)

We took the subway back, though, for the sake of Mum’s feet then rested then walked some more to get sushi for dinner, and I’ve got to find a good sushi place out here, although I’m not counting on it, which means I’ve already told the parents that we’ll be eating lots of sushi when I’m back in CA over Thanksgiving because, huzzah!, I will be heading out west for five days for Thanksgiving!  Which shall be celebrated this year by dining on kalbi!  This is probably the first year that I am the one making the demands for Korean food and not fighting for kitchen rights to cook up more traditional Thanksgiving fare!

Taking the parents to Shake Shack and the High Line tomorrow, then we get Cuban for dinner with one of my previous disciplers!  Friday plans are up in the air as of now, though — and, ah, how nice it is to have the parents here, and how sad I shall be when they leave on Saturday … ):
